Uber Lawsuit Judge Takes Ridesharing Company to Task

Sacramento, CA: The judge in the ongoing Uber lawsuit has once again taken the ridesharing company to task, this time barring the company from communicating directly with drivers included in the class-action lawsuit. The move comes days after Judge Edward Chen ruled Uber’s arbitration clause was not enforceable, opening the door to thousands more drivers joining the class-action lawsuit. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit allege they were misclassified as independent contractors and thus were denied benefits and protections including overtime pay, workers compensation and health insurance.
